Reflection & Resolution
At the end of 2024, I wrote in my resolution: "By the end of 2025 all these things I'm pondering now will feel like a distant memory and I will smile at my uncertainty, knowing that I'll have ended up exactly where I was meant to be." Lucky me, this turned out to be true. I feel more resolved than ever that I am on the right path in every aspect of my life. I moved to LA, started law school, read War & Peace. I have a sense of myself and my taste that I have never experienced before with such clarity. Things feel more concrete. I feel more like myself every year. I wore good clothes. Potato shoes! I spent time with friends, with my love. I read voraciously and continued to explore my taste in film. My apartment is coming along; I am still curating my space one piece at a time.
2026 is going to be rewarding, challenging in the best ways. I want to be confident, articulate, and calm. Interested and interesting. 2026 looks like: work, travel, relax, explore, indulge, invite. Expand my social circle. 2026's motto: what a privilege to outgrow things you used to settle for.
Some general resolutions:
invite color into my wardrobe
mix gold & silver jewelry
deep dive into Italian cinema
join a book club (or start one)
take a pottery class
cook for others
say hello to strangers
find new fragrances
lots of fresh air
intentional Internet use
eat more fruit
watch Seven Samurai
journal often
exercise regularly
read more nonfiction
document my life
let my whims guide me
be less influenced and more inspired
Thanks for stopping by! I would love to hear some of your 2025 favorites and 2026 resolutions in the comments. I wish you all a restful holiday season, and I will see you again in the new year.
