Thoughts

DTM (Doing Too Much)

Cheyenne in May has claimed the title of the Busiest Woman in the World. From the new job to the old job to film production in full swing, I didn't have a free day until a few weeks into the month, and I spent most of it sleeping. I love all the work I do, but I miss having some semblance of balance. I want to wrap up War & Peace (trust me, I'm trying) and set aside time for myself to read and watch things that inspire me. I watch/read/listen/consume so that I can create! I have been a good kind of busy this month, but it's all work for other people -- work for myself is equally as worthy of time in my schedule! I got lost in the May sauce, but in June, I'm calling it now, I am so back.

Weddings, Film Festivals, and other Fancy Events

The second wedding I've attended is already a strong contender for the most beautiful I will ever see (with the exception of my own someday). I have long said that if producing doesn't work out, I'll be a wedding planner. There is an allure to spending over a year planning such an exquisite and elaborate party. I was lucky to lay eyes on this one, and even luckier to by my boyfriend's plus one.

My thesis film got into its first festival! It was an exclusive screening at a major talent agency, and I had the first major resurgence of imposter syndrome since film school. It was an amazing experience to watch such a great selection of films and to chat with all of the agents and filmmakers. The director of my thesis lined up a lot of really exciting meetings, and everyone there was so impressed that we were already working on a feature. Overall, a really cathartic and reassuring experience to get some recognition for our work and to hear that people are paying attention to what we create! Myself and the crew left feeling so inspired to keep moving forward.

Thanks for reading! I would love to hear some of your May reads, watches, and favorites in the comments. In June, I am looking forward to getting back into exercise (pilates princess incoming), finally finishing War & Peace, and wrapping production on the feature!
